About Me
3Ss: Sleepyhead, Slowpoke, and Sensitive :D
I'm a university student currently residing in Berlin, Germany (since 2012). Prior to this, I was born and raised completely in Hanoi, Vietnam.
I'm majoring in Film Studies, and minoring in Philosophy and Japan Studies. This reflects a great deal my personal interests and orientation in life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's just a beautiful thing, isn't it? :)
Interests
My biggest passion in life is writing. For the cinema and for literature.
Other than that: music, making friends, talking, going out, learning languages, drawing, soccer, tennis, daydreaming...

- drawing

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Rock music (roots&blues, progressive, alternative, psychedelic...), jazz, folk, old-school electronic music (mostly Kraftwerk), ambient... but above all, just good music, as I'm becoming more and more open about this art form
Movies: all movies which are good - I love the cinema for a living. Some of my favorite directors: Bresson, Ozu, Renoir, Truffaut, Resnais, Mamet, Lumet, Akerman, Marker, Loach, Leigh, Hou, Kore-eda, Jia, Kaurismaki, Jarmusch, Payne, Bahrani...
Books: literature - mostly prose -, philosophy, and almost every written text about cinema. I love Raymond Carver and Haruki Murakami, especially. I do have a big affection for Japanese literature. But of course I can enjoy all kinds of books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Taking part in the creation of a short film which, eventually, never materialized.
Teach, Learn, Share
Glad if I could help you with anything :)
I speak Vietnamese as my native language and am fluent in both English and German.
I love to talk about cinema, as well as any other art form that fascinates me. I'm also very interested in talking about sociopolitical issues, especially those of Asia. Philosophy is, of course, another big, overarching thing which actually and naturally covers all those things I've just mentioned.
My next challenge is to conquer French. There are too many things written in French that I want to delve into further. And after that, adding Japanese would complete my linguistic deck.
What I Can Share with Hosts
