About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Saving money to TRAVEL! :)
ABOUT ME
I love reading travel books (guidebooks and nonfiction travel) and planning my next trips. A year ago I was in lovely Granada, Spain for a semester long program through my university. I absolutely love traveling... and I really love airports :)
Music is a pretty big deal to me, but I'm pretty shy about sharing my tastes in music with others. Let's just say it's very diverse!
I'm from Phoenix, AZ, AKA the desert, and, contrary to what you might think, I love being outside! My roommates call me impatient because I'm always planning new things for us to do, and I dislike sitting in one place for a long time (unless, of course, I haven't had the internet in a while...) :)
PS. I love practicing my Spanish, so please feel free to message me in Spanish!
PHILOSOPHY
Everyone has an interesting story :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Just moved into an apartment with two of my best friends from middle school and high school. We live in the heart of Phoenix, and have a couch plus a blow up air mattress.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first time couchsurfing was in Amsterdam. I was pretty nervous, but I was traveling with a friend who had couchsurfed plenty of times before, and he reassured me it was ok. Once I met our host, Tashi, I knew my worries were for nothing! We had the best time in Amsterdam, and even though Tashi had work and couldn't go out with us, he was the most gracious host and really made my first couchsurfing experience pleasant! I aspire to be as good a host as Tashi :)
Interests
Reading, music, art, sports (college bball is my fave), wandering/getting lost, chatting with absolutely everyone, and speaking Spanish/attempting to learn local phrases. I love playing tennis, but I haven't practiced for 6 months... but if you have a racquet, I'll definitely play!
I guess the number one thing I enjoy doing is reading. It might sound lame, but I will read ANYTHING. I even read labels, just for fun.

Music, Movies, and Books
Absolutely love: Slumdog Millionaire, Los amantes del circulo polar (go rent it now! :), Pan's Labyrinth, Office Space, Super Troopers, Zoolander, Machuca, Paradise Now, City of God, 28 Days Later, Men in Black... I really love the new James Bond movies and I also like Star Wars. If it's silly or scary or profound, I'll probably love it.
As for books, I read pretty much anything. I'm partial to Isabel Allende and Gabriel Garcia Marquez, but I also read tons of non-fiction (Confessions of an Economic Hitman, Infidel, The World is Flat, No god but God, etc.) If you recommend it, I will read it!
Music: some of my favorite artists are Jorge Drexler, RHCP, Juanes, Keane, Pitbull, Reik, Daddy Yankee, Megson, All-American Rejects, Josh Groban, Maroon 5, Jamie Cullum, Mariah Carey, Justin Timberlake, Enrique Iglesias, Sin Bandera, Switchfoot... it seems like I listen to a lot of American pop, but really I have a bit of everything.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I suppose the most amazing thing I've seen recently is the Alhambra in Granada, Spain. Truly spectacular!
