Hi there!

My name is Noah and I live in Loveland, Colorado, USA. I am an avid traveller, having been to 32 countries to date on 4 continents. I am also an aspiring blogger/vlogger under the name Wandering AV8R. My main focus is traveling on a budget. In the past two years, I've been to Europe three times, as well as Africa and Asia once. I have a passion for discovering far away places, meeting new people, and learning about cultures other than my own.

When at home in Colorado, I am usually found at the local airport. I am currently a flight student, hoping to become a commercial pilot in the future. I also work at the airport, where I assist pilots and passengers of private jets in whatever capacity they need. Clearly, between my job, flight training, and travel addiction, I have a passion for anything that flies! I am also obtaining an online bachelor's degree in journalism and media communications, with hopes that this education will help take my blogging and video making to the next level.

I am on Couchsurfing because I wanted to find a way to meet people around the world. I follow a word traveller on Instagram named Drew Binsky who recommended Couchsurfing as a great way to get to know people. After seeing his good reviews, I figured I should sign up myself!

I listen to pretty much everything except country music, but mainly enjoy rap. Whenever I travel, I find it very interesting to find out what music people in that country enjoy.

I am an avid movie watcher, especially documentaries. Recently, I've really enjoyed "Free Solo", the Oscar winning movie about Alex Honnold, who climbed the face of El Capitan, a 3,000 foot rock face, without a rope. Although I am not a rock climber, I was inspired watching a film about a man who lives unapologetically and without fear. It reminded me that life is about more than just making money, but figuring out how to live life passionately and without regret.

I haven't been able to read as much as I would like, given that I've been consumed by school and flight training. My favorite books that I have found time to read, however, are "Into Thin Air", "Night", and "Astrophysics for People in a Hurry". These books have helped guide who I am as a person. They've given me a sense of adventure, shown me to be compassionate for my fellow humans, and provided me with a perspective of where we are in the universe. After reading these books, I realized that life is very finite in the grand scheme of time, and driven me to see as much of this planet as I can.

In the summer of 2017, I studied abroad in Prague, Czech Republic. This experience forever changed who I am as a person. As I had worked to save money for over a year, I was fortunate to have the freedom to travel around Europe and the Middle East for almost three months. I started the trip in Dubai, UAE. From here, I flew to Prague, where I took two college courses in economics. During my breaks and after my classes had ended, I travelled throughout the whole of Europe. At one point, I took a 13 hour bus ride through Serbia in the middle of the night on my way to Bulgaria with people who only spoke Hungarian and Bulgarian. At two different points on this bus ride, our passports were taken by border guards for almost an hour, stranding us on the side of the road in the middle of random Serbian villages. This was one of those experiences that made me feel far outside of my comfort zone, and reminded me that in order to create lasting memories and experiences, I needed to face my fears and deal with life as it came.
During that trip, I visited 17 countries, ranging from the United Arab Emirates, to the Netherlands, Trukey, and Iceland. The sense of true self-reliance that I felt on that trip was addicting, and I've been finding way to travel far from the United States ever since then.

The topic of expertise in which I am most well versed is aviation. As a student pilot and airport worker, I have been around airplanes most days for the past four years. So if you have any questions about this topic, I can talk all day about it!
I am also semi-fluent in Spanish, and love speaking to others who are learning the language. Albeit, I haven't been in Spanish classes in almost six years, I try my best to retain my ability to speak it.
I would also like to offer that I love to hear other people's stories. Everyone I've met around the world has had different life experiences that I love hearing about. They all have something to teach, and I am always curious to hear crazy stories from new people!

The biggest thing that I can share with hosts is stories! Having been to 32 different countries, I have an abundance of experiences that have shaped who I am today. I would love to talk and share our travel experiences, as it has always been endlessly fascinating to me.
