Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love having people to stay, and I love visiting new places so the CS community is perfect! I've had a few people stay with me now, and I'll be hitting the road shortly for 6 months + so I hope to meet lots of fellow couchsurfers as lovely as all the people I've met so far!

My couch is now in use for the next few weeks and then I'm in Iceland so it won't available again until July

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had several surfers stay with me now, and they've all been interesting, considerate and lovely. I've stayed with Dia in Reykjavik which was absolutely fabulous, and met others in Iceland that I went camping with. A great experience so far, really looking forward to my travels in September!

I love cooking so will happily feed any surfer that come my way, and cook up a storm for my hosts... if I can find the shops!

Interests

I love going to shows and exhibitions that are different, off-centre, especially cabaret. Went to see a show called Soap recently that involved utterly amazing dance/acrobatics, opera, bathtubs and comedy! You'll also find me at music gigs and festivals. Went to the Secret Garden Party this year and really looking forward to going to gigs in Canada!

One of my favourite things is sipping cocktails whilst watching the sunset, being that over a cityscape, beach or stunning vista, my favourite time of day...

Love hearing new stuff so introduce me to something new. And stuff that manages to mix different genres and sounds amazing!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watched the sun finally set at 1am off the coast of western Iceland.

Touched a great white shark while cage diving off Hermes Bay, South Africa, not near the sharp end!

Whilst touring round Europe on a motorbike, stopped at the side of the road in Italy, near Rome, with no plan where to go and saw a walled hill town in the distance so that was where we headed. The town was Spoleto, it was a lovely cobbled old town, where there was an art festival on and it was truffle season. And I saw the most beautiful sight from a walled escape bridge that led from a secret passage from the castle over the gorge, a flock of swallows swooping around down wind of the bridge at dusk.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a well of useless information which I'm happy to share. And I've become very interested in nutrition so I can share what I know on the subject and am always open to hearing others take. I can cook very tasty, healthy meals. And some naughty treats too!
