My travels started when I was 15yrs old, when I spent 2 1/2 weeks living with a Japanese family. Prior to that experience our family hosted many young travelers through my highschool's exchange program. It was then that I realized I had a desire to travel all over the world; to experience life through the eyes of other's perceptions; and to experience the spirit of the self as fully as possible. I have been traveling consistantly since my experience in Japan. Staying with famalies and people from the areas I am traveling in is always the most rewarding part of the experience.

PHILOSOPHY

All of the above. Am in search of wisdom and experience, and love learning along the way.

The shift of sight to see you ARE already everything you've always wanted to be and more.

Lifting above life's termoil. Acceptance. Wisdom of knowing everyone is going through or has been through something. Tolerance for those who have hurt us. Trust for those who we have hurt. And forgiveness for ourselves and others.

Living with dualities and multiple truths. Strong and soft, talkative and quiet, young and old, positivity and negativity. Deleting words from our vocabulary, adding words, making up our own rules. Acknowledging we always have a CHOICE. The IS. Here and BE. Acceptance with ourselves allowing for judgement to subside. Feeling from love and trust and gratitude.
Trust our feelings and having no judgement towards them. Being OK with where you are at. The IS.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I think the CS project is amazing and a wonderful way to participate in global understanding. "Friend-surfing" is my main focus. "Strangers are just family we haven't met yet."

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am mainly interested in "Friend-surfing" at this point. Staying with someone and visa versa creates a tiny ripple of influence on you and their lives.

I have had travelers stay with me and my family since I was in highschool, and since then whenever I have been in other places I am fortunate to always meet such welcoming people who offer to show me around or a place to stay. Recently I have come across the sailing network of amazing travelers who let you trade some deck hand work for a sail boat to stay in and travel around with.

Interests

Reading, writing, hiking, walking, jogging, volleyball, yoga, any new funny exciting sport (pickle-ball??) I love biology, i love animals and observing their behavior. I love the ocean. I love talking about politics and philosophy. I love forgetting about calculated time and getting lost in the moment.

Music, Movies, and Books

A series of still images put next to one another to create an ILLUSION of space and time. WE are all the STARS of our own movie. How we precieve this world is our ILLUSION.

With that being said, I love positive uplifting movies most of the time. Hold on... wait five minutes... I might change my mind.

Too many good books to mention. An all time favorite is "Einstiens Dreams" by Alan Lightman (Outlines each world where one of Einstiens theories of time are in place). Opening any book to a magical page and letting that page influence my day or steer me in some direction or another. That is, unless I don't like what it says : )

I love MUSIC!! all kinds of music and most often anything live!! anything with a soul. one of my favorite festivals is the summer MUSIC FESTIVAL in France where any and every kind of music is played just blocks away from each other and you can wander around listening to all sorts of live music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Too many to mention. SCUBA adventures, boat adventures, traveling experiences, hiking/camping experiences. Most involve the magnificance of nature!!

I love to share random nerdy biology facts. and pretty much any random fun facts. love teaching pretty much about anything. I would love to learn spanish and french. I love to learn about different cultures and history of the world.
