About Me

PLEASE NOTE THAT I NO LONGER LIVE IN HONIARA (NOW IN KABUL).

CURRENT MISSION

To visit every country in the world!

I believe we call come into each others' lives for a reason, however big or small. I wish to meet and share stories with as many people as possible, from as many backgrounds as possible.

ABOUT ME

I was born to be a traveler and am fascinated with cultures and new places. I am half-Russian and half-Cuban and was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, and have lived in Cuba, Canada, United States, Tajikistan, the UK, and Iraq.

I just spent two years living in Iraq and working for an international NGO. Two years in this country is enough to drive anyone crazy, so I'm taking a year to recover from that experience. And yes, I have countless stories to share from that experience. :-)

I love to meet new people and absorb new viewpoints. I always come to a new country with an open mind and leave as a more enlightened individual. I am passionate about photography and always have my camera close by.

PHILOSOPHY

My country is the world, and my religion is to do good.

Music, Movies, and Books

Alan Watts was a life changer (The Wisdom of Insecurity is a must-read). Also really admire Jiddu Krishnamurti and Aldous Huxley, amongst a variety of other philosophers. Michael Singer's Three essays on universal law: The laws of Karma, will, and love.

Elizabeth Gilbert's Big Magic and The Signature of All Things. James Michener's The Drifters is an amazing testimony to youth, idealism, and travel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ayahuasca ceremony in the Sacred Valley in Peru.
Burning Man in Black Rock City.
Swimming in a jelly fish lake in Palau.
