About Me

CURRENT MISSION

NOMAD IN PLACE--my new outlook towards balancing life and travel/living in the life you have.

ABOUT ME

Quiet. Introverted...but hoping to leave that behind. Present. Emotionally invested. Ready to rock and roll. Ready to love. A lover of life. A lover of people....new and old. A good friend. A traveler. One who likes to follow the curiosity.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm always down for meeting up with CSers and showing them what I love about New Orleans--whether that's good eats, great music, or just hanging with friends.

I was a big fan of couchsurfing when I first heard about it. I'm still excited about the opportunity to meet people from all over the world--whether that means from across the lake or across the Atlantic--and to exchange culture and share a blip of life together.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As part of a 6 week tour of the US West after I finished my undergrad in '04 and before I was aware of couchsurfing while on Vancouver Island for Canada Day--I ran into some incredible folks who entertained me and housed me for the evening...the experience made a lasting impression.

I left America in September of 2008 for what turned into a year abroad--9 months in southern and eastern Africa and 3 months in southern Europe and the Middle East--the couchsurfing hospitality, namely the friendships along the way are the highlights by far. Thanks to each of you!

Interests

new friendships, new hobbies, sand volleyball, frisbee, tennis, sharing life with strangers/fast friends, keeping my passport, reading as much as a Seattle/Portland homeless person (a lot), photography, learning to live and share life.

Music, Movies, and Books

DO find a book that interests you and give that sucker a read! Books are not kryptonite after all!??

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've just recently begun to fight for my heart--to live in accordance with my inner constitution...to follow my dreams, even at all costs. I'm learning to trust in and believe in myself.

From September '08-'09 I traveled through parts of Africa, southern Europe, and the Middle East.

In '04 after finishing my undergrad degree, I put work on hold and took off for a solo roadtrip across the American Mid West/West Coast. It marked the beginnings of casting away societal expectations and following my heart--even when I didn't have it all figured out. I made a dream came true and lived to tell about it--no financial ruin, no ill effects. It was one of the most eye opening experiences of my life--I'm a better person because of it.

Teach, Learn, Share

Happiness begins with honesty--be true to yourself--know yourself. Value and treasure your heart--learn to fight for it. Loving yourself and others can't begin until you've found something worth fighting for within yourself.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share some laughter, some jokes, a listening ear, possibly some travel stories, perhaps some home cooking.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bolivia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Peru, Poland, Rwanda, South Africa, Spain, Syrian Arab Republic, Tanzania, Turkey, Uganda, Zambia

Tanzania, United States
