Overview
About Me
I'm a chill and thoughtful guy who likes to have a laugh and goof around but also love having serious, straight-faced and unfunny conversations about important topics.
Obviously I love traveling, so we'll have that in common right away :D I also love snowboarding, reading, films, spending quality time with friends, family and nice people and of course eating chocolate.
I'm traveling Singapore and Indonesia with my good friend Mark (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/hobosmith) and we'd be so stoked if you hosted us!
I co-created a couchsurfer's dream in Vancouver called the Mega Mansion. We hosted tons of folks, mostly not from the website. Here's our old profile (the house no longer exists ):

It's too weird for me to say much more about my own personality, so take a look at my old-school references (esp the "personal" section, which is where many are for some reason). I don't think I've changed much!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I started 10 years ago and used to do it a ton , hosting and surfing. Now I usually just host friends, family, and friends and family of friends and family. And their friends. I guess you could say I still host a lot :D There are many great reasons to be a part of this community.
1) The people. I've met such kind, interesting, funny, and zany folks through this community and have made excellent, permanent memories that make me smile. Isn't that what life is all about?
2) The locations. Don't you love seeing other people's homes? I think it's so interesting. Once I couchsurfed with some people who lived under a bridge! How else could I have experienced that way of life? Hosting and being hosted is intimate, and you can really get to know a place by feeling what life is like in the home.
3) The connections. Yeah I could stay in a hostel or hotel, which is nice for a night or two, but where is the connection to the place I'm in? Who am I talking to, meeting, eating with and joking around with? Anyone? Or am I just alone in my room drinking my way through the mini-bar?
4) It's affordable. Surfing is an accessible way to travel without having to break your bank--let's help each other save a bit of coin in this hectic life of ours so we can spend our money on other things, such as chocolate and each other.
5) Stories. Once I couchsurfed with this guy and his family in India and he took me on a white-knuckle motorcycle ride through Mumbai to see his robotics laboratory where he hand-built the first drone I'd ever seen. Like what?
