About Me

Hello there, I’m Washington Wang, currently a student doing my master’s degree in Roman law in National Taiwan University, Taipei. I graduated from the same school with a double major degree of foreign languages and literatures and law. Academic wise, my interests go from history, literatures, legal traditions to the intersection of all the above. In my leisure time, I like to read, listen to classical music, and sometimes cook for myself or my family.
I also like to learn new languages. Learning new languages is like embedding a brand new thinking pattern into one's brain, and I found the process of it extra challenging yet thrilling. So far, I self-learned French and Japanese since 2020 and, although I daren't say fluent, I can at least have leisure conversations with French and Japanese speakers. Now out of academic needs, I am currently (although slowly) self-learning German.
Although I’m an INTJ, I’m more chilled than this personality test result could tell. One might find me taciturn at our first meeting, but I’m actually pretty chatty once I find that this person wants to know more about me and is willing to spend their time with me. I enjoy deep conversations with different souls, and I firmly believe this is what’s most valuable in any kinds of interpersonal relationships.
I’m not that much of a party person, but that doesn’t mean I don’t think parties could be a proper place to make new friends. If alcohol should be involved I usually want it under chill vibes with attentive friends to talk to, deep convos even better. I recall one of my literature class in uni, the ending of which was marked in discussions and laughters accompanied by mulled wine. That was the most memorable moments in my life.
I grew up in a town privileged by its abundant Taiwanese gourmets and historical sites--Tainan. If you want to know how Taiwanese history came into shape, feel free to ask me when we meet. :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
In the past twenty years or so I've spent too much time on academics and inward thinking, and now that I've passed the Bar exam last year, I decided that it's time to step out of my comfort zone.
I haven't had any CS experience in the past but I'm now making this year a start.
