About Me

Born and raised in Romania, I've moved around Europe quite a lot and I'm currently living in Copenhagen.

I'm a mixture of your idealist and down-to-Earth-average Joe. I've always sought out the path less trodden and made extremely spontaneous - at times questionable - decisions, but at the same time I've tried to keep a realistic and balanced mindset about all things 21st-century.

After a couple of party-all-night-long years, I'm at the point where I'd much rather chill in a pub, go home at an orthodox time and watch a movie, read, or simply do nothing.

I'm always game for a proper-sized pint, a bottle of wine, a trip down memory lane, a board game, a drinking one, a hike, a trip, an episode of Friends, a Ben&Jerry's, a plate of good food. But I probably won't join you on any loud and crowded events - unless it's a Coldplay concert.

I live with my boyfriend, who is a documentary photographer. He's the loveliest guy, with a great sense of humour, an interest in sports and outstanding cooking skills.

I'm a dog person, I love all things multilingual and multicultural, I've travelled a lot and have many stories to share. I'm always looking forward to my next trip, and I'm painfully blunt and straightforward.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I had many guests when I was living in Romania and I loved every second of it.
Couchsurfing has helped me create many incredible bonds and make crazy, sometimes outrageous memories.
I've had wonderful moments with my guests, one of the dearest people in my life is someone I met on Couchsurfing and it was also Couchsurfing that brought me to someone who took me to Patrick, who is now my live-in partner.
Couchsurfing has brought me nothing but happiness and, all modesty aside, I'm very good at it.

Music, Movies, and Books

The music that plays in my home?
Hmm... depends on the day and the mood.
Off the top of my head, I'd say Coldplay, Tame Impala, Radiohead, Portishead, Muse, Imogen Heap, Arctic Monkeys, The Doors, Bombay Bicycle Club, Placebo, Jose Gonzales, The Smiths, Eddie Vedder, The National, Snow Patrol, Kings of Convenience, U2, The Tallest Man on Earth.

At times, my taste in music is highly questionable to some, including myself, so I'll be singing along Rihanna or Taylor Swift or whatever is hot on the radio.

I also love jazz!

Movies? I love anything Tom Hanks has ever played in. I don't have an all-time favourite, but I do prefer thrillers and what they call "heavy movies" as genre. I also like romantic comedies ( I blame that on Tom Hanks) and documentaries.

A couple of my favourite writers are Jonathan Safran Foer, Nicole Krauss, Murakami, Dickens, Siri Hustvedt, Roth.
I enjoy English classical literature and (auto)biographies.

I love reading about the 2nd World War.
