About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To help the world cross-pollenate
PHILOSOPHY
Laura wants to live a couple of lives in one. Swinging from each experience like a determined spider monkey.
Paul's way is to learn at every opportunity, to try to see the funny side when things go plop, and to try harder each day - he wants to make a difference (but promises not to speak in the third person if we meet)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Paul has slept in several baths, a toliet and many, many automobiles. Laura has slept on many soft and hard surfaces including couches, sofas, sofa beds and chaise lounges.
Interests
Laura loves - all sorts of music except musical & broadway theatre. Food, food and did we mention - food. Drinking good wine, meeting interesting people, learning about history, sketching dreams, capturing moments in film, challenging herself physically with sport and mentally with Crime and Punishment. Paul is pretty similar except he loves tuna fish.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music

Movies
Anything Almodovar - we adore a tragi-drama-love story...Werner Herzog he's made a few good ones....Most things Coen are good too i.e. The Big Lebowski, Fargo etc. The musical scores from Tarantino are cool as well. The rest of the time we love to watch biopics and documentaries about this bright beautiful world.
Books
Anything by Isabelle Allende is worth a read, Gabrielle Garcia Marquez, Paul Theroux... Old school stuff live Cervantes is actually quite funny, Mark Twain we could be here all day....
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Paul has not seen that many amazing things. The top 3 are probably the birth of a baby lamb in spring, the Grand Canyon and power of the ocean.
Laura has been charged at by a wide rhino, seen an uncompromising typhoon and bobbed around with crocodiles.
Teach, Learn, Share
In the past 10 years we have learnt many things about each other, ourselves and other people while travelling and then when back at work in the UK. At the moment we are trying hard to work again on our Spanish, to master Italian cookery and sketch out an overland route to India. Every person you ever meet is a teacher, in how to; or how not to lead your life. We know we will share many smiles.
What I Can Share with Hosts
With a combined 70 years on this wonderful place called Earth we've collected a few skills to pay to the bills. Laura knows her Chakras from her Rickshaws - She's been a Yoga Teacher for over 8 years.
On the other hand if you have an NGO or business that needs to get itself "out there" Paul has a few tricks up his sleeve that could help you out.
Beyond that practical stuff we love to cook, share stories, drink tea, coffee & wine and generally laugh as much as we possibly can. !Hasta Pronto!
