About Me
PAST MISSION (I haven't couchsurfed since I changed professions from being a teacher. I plan on updating my new mission statement to fit my new profession soon, but I'll leave my old one here for now...)
To experience LIFE on a teacher's budget!
ABOUT ME
On a teacher's salary I haven't traveled as many places as I'd like, but I love to see the world! My weeks in London on a study abroad were some of the most enchanting ones of my life. Ditto the days I spent in Mexico one winter building an orphanage. With summers off, I'd travel for months if I could... and maybe I can!
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that madness is to see the world as it truly is and not as it should be. Therefore, I try to see it thus, and change it!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We're in a pretty small place right now, probably not able to comfortably host, but if you're really in a pinch we could probably squeeze you in.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted a couple times and surfed a few more than that, but I'm still a CS novitiate. Still, the times I've done it have all been wonderful experiences that convince me of the greatness of this site!

Music, Movies, and Books
I mostly listen to musicals, will watch anything (avoiding rated-R movies in most cases), and have a list of books way too long to get through in the forseeable future. I just finished Alas, Babylon by Pat Frank and loved it for the second time, and have--among other things-- some Greek and Roman literature in my immediate future. Goodie!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went skydiving several years ago. It was incredible, and I can't wait to go again!
Teach, Learn, Share
I know all about literary criticism and dramatic theory, as well as the proper role of government. Perhaps more practical, though, I know how to tie my shoes with one hand. Come on, if that isn't one of the most practical skills to teach, my name isn't Deneb Pulsipher (which of course it is, believe it or not!).
