About Me

I was born in Vancouver and raised in Singapore. Together with my girlfriend, we just enjoy travelling around the globe and experiencing different cultures. Our next journey will be traveling around Europe and we are really looking forward to it! My life motto: to be simple and honest:) I would say i'm an easy going person who does not shy away from meeting new people. Cheers!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travelling to different places has always been my passion. I had the privilege of travelling to various countries throughout the course of my life. But regardless of where I'm at, my sole purpose of travelling will not change. It is simply to experience the locals' way of life - where are their hangouts, what do they normally do, how do they interact etc.. And there is no other better way to satisfy that than to interact and STAY with a local which I STRONGLY BELIEVE that Couchsurfing will help me to achieve.

Interests

Travelling has always been my passion as I enjoy meeting new people and experiencing a fresh and foreign culture.

I have also a huge interest in sports - particularly basketball, soccer, running, swimming and badminton. When I was younger, I use to represent my country in a couple of international Badminton competitions.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In May 2014, I went on a community trip with a group of my friends to Nepal. The purpose of our trip was to help a local middle school improve their educational infrastructure so that their students can enjoy a more conducive study environment. This trip was really an eyeopener for me as it made me realize how fortunate and sheltered I (and many other people) was. There wasn't any proper sanitation facility, no proper pavements and all they had were dull cement buildings which had no paint on them. Together with my team, we helped build pavements and painted their classroom walls with bright colors to lighten up the dull surroundings. Despite living in basic conditions, what amazed me the most was that the locals were all enjoying their lives to the fullest and I don't see anyone complaining. This experience definitely made me appreciate the finer things in life that many people tend to take for granted. Looking back at the trip, the sense of accomplishment that I get from helping the kids is second to none and I will definitely do it again.

What I Can Share with Hosts

One thing I can share with hosts is definitely companionship. Being an easygoing and simple person, I love to meet to new people from all across the world. It would be really fun to be able to share travelling experiences and knowledge with someone who has the same passion and interest.
