Very active in 350.org. I study climate related issues, focusing on the science of climate change. Attend a lot of talks at Stanford and around the Bay area. Living in San Mateo in a unique Eco-village community where we share a huge garden and Sunday dinners.

Long time gardener; practitioner of Aikido; contact improvisational dance. Mostly eat vegetarian. Like a good cup of coffee. Enjoy a wide variety of movies and art and music.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Specifically looking for a place to crash in the DC Metro area for about 2 weeks as I will be attending both the March for Science April 22, and the People's Climate Mobilization, April 29. I hope to plug into and help with art projects at both of these events so I would expect to be out and about a lot in the days before these happenings.
I like meeting people and I don't have a lot of spare cash to spend on housing, even airbnb would set me back a chunk for 2 weeks. When travelling abroad, I use hostels rather than hotels.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bike to the top of Haleakala, but that was a while ago.. :-))

Traveled to Cabo San Lucas for a total eclipse of the sun.

Not "amazing" but recently enjoyed some cross country skiing in Yosemite with friends.. Great snow this year!
