About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live my life the way I want to.
ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in the Bay Area and when I was in 7th grade I moved to Redding, CA. I went through my High School years in Redding and after graduation I moved back to the Bay Area to make a living. I have pretty much always worked as an electrician until I was offered the position of Facilities Manager about 15 years back. I have been doing that ever since. It's not bad most the time.
My biggest passion has been nature and motorcycles. I love to ride out in the mountains of California but as I get older my friends priorities change from bike to kids. They find they no longer have the time or money for it. So with that I started racing. I got a late start (about 30) but had several years of sucess until an injury sidelined me from my quest to become a Pro. 2004 was my last year racing in which I was the AMA/FMF National Hare and Hound 250cc Amatuer champion. After that I had surgury to correct my wrist and things went bad from there. I was to turn Pro after the recovery and compete for the 125 Pro title. The Hare and Hound series is sponsored by the American Motorcyclist Association and is the championship series for desert racing. The races are 80 to 100 miles long and they take you trough some of the most rocky, steep desert mountains you can image. It was a blast traveling the Western US racing a National Circuit. My current bike are a '99 ZX9R and a '04 RM250.
Aside from Motorcycles, I also enjoy auto racing. Have been a Formula 1 fan for many years, really a fan of all motor sports. If it has a motor, let's race it. Since being sidelined from racing I have had to fill in much time in my life that I previously spent wrenching and traveling. I still enjoy traveling and racing but since I could no longer race I started to travel to other countries. I now center my trip's around an auto race (Formula 1) as well as Hard Rock Cafe's.
I have been collecting HRC glasses since 1997. My first glass was from Phoenix, AZ. My collection is now up to about 40 different cities that I have visited.
I also like to hike and fish. I also like to 4x4 if the weather does not allow riding.
I am a pretty mellow laid back person. Most of the time I am content with hanging out at home working on one of many never ending projects that I have. I also have a few fish tanks that relax me after a busy day. I will usually turn on the TV, sit on the couch (Yes, I have a couch and a love seat!) and watch my fish tank. My main tank is a 240 gallon tank filled with African Ciclids. I find I watch them more than the TV. When I am watching TV I enjoy, motor racing (Surprise!), UFC, Seinfeld and shows on Discovery channel.
That's a little about me. If you wanna find out more and you need a couch to crash on come on by and we can hang in the City (San Francisco), or the beach (Santa Cruz), or just out front by my Koi pond and chat.
PHILOSOPHY
I live by the Golden Rule, "Treat others the way you want to be treated." When that does not work, I treat them the way they treat me.
I personally just out to enjoy myself through all the crap that we all deal with in this world. I have been through a lot with some personal tragidies in life so my outlook is a little different. We are here today but can be gone tomorrow. I try not to work more than 8 hours a day and have a job that pay's me well enough to enjoy the things I like. I am not greedy, and I just need to be comfortable. I also reconize (most the time) the differences between "things I want" and "things I need."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am planning a trip across the US on motorcycle. A friend of mine did it a couple years back and found some couchs to crash on. He said he meet some really cool people throught the CS2 Project.
Traveling has been great. Now with CS2, I can plan more trips and save on cost while meeting cool people and getting tips from the local people. It sucks to go to a new place and miss the really cool stuff while you are looking like a complete tourist that is totally lost. So far I have been really fortunate to have friends in other parts of the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am not much a movie person. But I am more into comedy, adventure and action movies more than horror movies.
My music interest is varied but is mainly classic rock and metal. I like all music except rap and country.
My reading in High School was all fantasy and science fiction. Now I just look through motorcycle magazines.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Seeing other countries is really cool. My first time to Bali was a little scarry. I arrived there late at night and it was my first time really in a foreign country. To see literly thousands of people on scooters at midnight on very narrow streets was really a trip!. And the Hard Rock Hotel has a gate and guards posted out front. They have to check you car before entering. This is not to far from the several terrorist bombings they have had there. The next day under the sunlight it looked safe. For a while there I was thinking, "What did I get myself into?"
Oh yeah, winning a National Championship and sitting with all the top pros of American motorcycle racing in Las Vegas was also pretty cool.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a young friend that has been raised to believe that you work your life, get married and have children. All the time saving for retirement. My father (50) and brother (8) both died in a house fire. Since then I try to live life, not waiting for those later days. If you wait you may never get there.
