About Me

CURRENT MISSION

let joy fill the moment

ABOUT ME

I want to build community. I borrowed my recipe for community from a good friend: a big pot of delicious soup, homemade bread, a bunch of people, fun games and music.

PHILOSOPHY

Live your love.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am an open, trusting person who loves to listen to people's stories. I sincerely enjoy caring for people. The world is fascinating. I will always be a student, and hope you can teach me about yourself.

I'm up for adventure at the spur of the moment.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed a bunch in the United States and Europe and hosted a few folks during my time living in Morocco. I am now sharing a home with four friends and my partner.

Interests

I crave being out in wild places. I prefer listening to music live, and dancing. I love reading and writing. I run and ride my bike a lot. I thoroughly enjoy jumping into water (puddles, lakes, creeks, oceans). Making new friends is always fun. I like to cook spicy Tex-Mex, and want to get an architecture degree pancake stacking.

Oh, I've got a soft spot for big dogs.

Music, Movies, and Books

Robin Williams, Live on Broadway. A lot of others I can't possibly list...

The best music is live music!

For my poetry fix: Mary Oliver. Always. My favorite novel is Stranger in a Strange Land. I enjoy non-fiction too: Mountains Beyond Mountains and Half the Sky are all-time favorites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Saying, "Hi!" to Honest Abe after cycling 3,800 miles from Seattle to DC.

Seeing 30,000 grey bats leave their maternal cave to feed in central Kentucky. Having the privilege of walking ten yards into the cold black where eyes are useless. Listening to the bats sing their way through the dark.

Teach, Learn, Share

We can make a better world right now by listening to one another.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Canada, Costa Rica, Egypt, Germany, Mexico, Portugal, Spain
