About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I just have a desire to visit and explore new places. I'm always seeking the unknown.

ABOUT ME

First and foremost I'm a family man. I've been married since 1991 to my lovely wife, Janet. I have a grown daughter, who participates in couchsurfing, and a teenaged son. I spent 23 years in US fed service, and some years as a Merchant Marine working as a deckhand on no less than 15 towboats & several companys on the inland riverways, including the mighty Mississippi, the Ohio, Illinois, and others. I now work for a distributor as a fill in driver, covering 7 states. I love to travel and meet new people. I'm involved in my church. I always try to be clean, courteous and respectful of others. All the things a good former Boy Scout should be.

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope to travel with couchsurfing someday.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I watched my daughter participate and saw that it can be a rewarding experience. Though I've never couchsurfed officially I have always enjoyed traveling.

Interests

I like learning the history of all the places I go, the origins of city names, etc. Generally I just enjoy art and culture. I enjoy coffee and tea in all their varieties across cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy independent artistic musicians.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had breakfast with the Dalai Lama at a hotel in Chicago once. The most profound thing I've ever experienced was becoming a father and watching my two kids learn and grow. I once experienced an Aurora borealis, in all her magnificent splendor, with every color in the spectrum, on an isolated stretch of river, in northern Minnesota.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know how to make coffee & tea in numerous ways, and I love to learn new crafts and skills.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Turkish coffee,

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahrain, Germany, Honduras, Kuwait, Panama, Saudi Arabia
