Overview
About Me
i live simply and appreciate this beautiful planet we all inhabit more than just about anything. i try to be nice to everyone, including myself, and practice unconditional acceptance.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
i've hosted many friends (and several strangers too) and have been hosted by many friends, but i haven't used cs much (plans just never worked out, and while living a transient lifestyle i sometimes didn't have a place to host others). but some of my friends have raved about it and i believe in its cause, so i do want to use it more.
i usually stay with friends or camp when i travel, but i love hosting friends and strangers alike and paying it forward whenever i can.

Music, Movies, and Books
the only music i dislike is mainstream pop country and death metal/screamo. i especially love indie, folk, classic rock, reggae, afrobeat, electronic, good rap, (some) shameless pop, and anything fun and funky that makes me move. this is an idea of my listening trends: http://last.fm/user/calendar__girl
i don't read as much as i'd like to anymore, but recently i've been most interested in nonfiction about the environment and adventure novels/modern classics.
i haven't seen too many movies and have generally lost interest in them. and i don't watch tv.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
hiking the appalachian trail was a pretty cool experience that gave me a lot of perspective, from walking over 2,000 miles in the woods for 5.5 months. and just general vagabonding that has followed for various periods of my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
i love learning anything from others. i love making food with other people, especially those who are interested in veganism. i also love teaching and learning anything from others about anything related to plants, fungi, and outdoor/wilderness skills.
What I Can Share with Hosts
food: glad to cook dinner for you (although i only really know how to cook vegan food..). stories. easy-going company. extreme gratitude.
