About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To decide my current mission

ABOUT ME

I think my friends would say I am a dippy but sincere and well-meaning woman who is kind, unintentionally entertaining and a good cook. My favourite thing EVER is to sit down with a cup of tea and a few (dozen) lovely home-made biscuits and have a nice chat with somebody!

I love books, I used to read a lot of pop classics but recently I prefer light-hearted fiction. One day I will own my own book sanctuary and will never put a healthy book down.

I adore factual TV, particularly 'How It's Made', and yet I don't really do logic. My personality is slightly zany, eccentric daydreamer.

I have lots of friends who seem to think in quite a 'standard' fashion and they would describe me as quirky, totally random, or fruitloop-esque. I see myself as bouncing through life in a cheerful kinda way :)

I've been in Norwich for nearly 2 years and I think that changing jobs a few times hasn't helped me to make new friends. But I think Norwich has a lot of kind and lovely and intriguing people, and I am just waiting (waiting, you hear Norwich!!) to meet new people, make friends and be part of a community.

And just because the website says I can include anything at all: I have size 5 feet!

PHILOSOPHY

Life is short, have a Twix and a cup of tea and then get on with it.

But seriously, everyone has their own beliefs, ideas, etc. I don't diss other peoples' beliefs and I think respect and understanding are vital for future world peace

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

What, in life? In this website?! Confused

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My husband and I have hosted a few times and its always been lovely, however we haven't hosted since becoming parents 6 years ago - its been rather a long time!

Interests

Meeting people, talking about stuff, staying up until 2am with endless cups of tea because I've found somebody new who I click with. I'm married and a big advocate for love in all it's forms. I also enjoy going for countryside walks, I'm also into creative fiction writing and playing about with acrylic paints.

I'm currently studying a degree in counselling and am a trainee counsellor working in a voluntary placement to get experience. I love to talk about relationships, attachment, love, any big feelings really.

I am a mother to a wonderful 6 year old child, she is extremely important to us and my daily routine and much of my time revolves around her.

I do not like to go to nightclubs. I rarely drink alcohol. I don't take any drugs and I dont smoke cigarettes or vape. I am a bit more overweight than most of my couch-surfing photos (they are old photos!) because I really love to sit around chatting and eating chocolate. Its not the healthiest hobby, but it's fun for me!

Mostly I just love spending time with people and hearing their stories, talking about life and experiences and emotions and stuff.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies- all Disney! Labyrinth too. Kiki's Delivery Service was quite sweet - it's an anime from Studio Gibli. I'll pretty much watch anything except horror/gore.

I like lots of music, including rock and metal, classical, trip-hop, and pop. Any song with a frigging rap or bit of talking in the middle of it is not on my iPod. I'm not at all into modern R&B!

Facourite bands/ musicians are: Alter Bridge, Dream Theatre, Lacuna Coil, Daughtry, David Cook, Ed Sheeran, Casting Crowns, Kutless, Christina Aguilera, Morcheeba, Ludovico Einaudi. I used to be very heavily into Tool, APC, Mars Volta & DJ Shadow... I think these guys are still cool, but I don't listen to them much any more. I'm too busy listening to kids tv theme tunes with my one year old.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

As a former suicide prevention worker, I have helped quite a few people to change their minds about attempting suicide. It was just my job at the time, just what I did every day. But looking back, it feels amazing that I was able to help so many people.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love baking, especially chocolate cookies. I am a Reiki Practitioner and can provide hypnosis for relaxation and can teach self hypnosis. I have counselling skills, but you probably don't want that on a holiday. Myself and my husband can show you some brilliant British comedy acts. I have tried three times to learn Spanish and still don't know much so any help would be appreciated!

What I Can Share with Hosts
