About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn how to make the most of my time, to realise my dreams ..

ABOUT ME

I love life a lot. I love new experiences and new faces, but old ones equally as much. I want to live in a world without money, but try and make the best with what we have. I believe in a better way of living where we look out for one another and love our neighbours, and think we can still achieve this despite what hardships we may face along the way.

I think we should be truly grateful for how lucky we are and do all we can to improve the fortune of others, in what other way this may be.

I love nothing more than good food, good drink and good company; I would like to go back to a time in England where 'Eat, drink and be merry' was more of an instruction rather than an old-fashioned saying. I we think we often overlook the true beauty in front of our eyes.

I have a love and admiration for certain aspects of English life, but also for many European traits, and aspects of Indian culture which I find exhilarating and I think we should come together and celebrate our differences & similarities and marriage the best things about Spanish culture and Chinese culture and Scottish culture etc..

PHILOSOPHY

Live for the moment, Don't dwell on the past, but learn from your mistakes. Embrace fate! Treat people as individuals. Smile and people will smile back! Do good and good things will happen. Love a lot. I think that people throughout the world are generally good-hearted; it's a devastation when those who are not come into power...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Lettuce not beat around the bush. Travel can be expensive. Like many others I originally joined CS in order to cut down on my travel bill and enable myself to see more places. However in this process I was treated to something wonderful; the opportunity to make new international friends, explore new places from an insiders perspective, and share in experiences that I simply never would have found from turning up to a new place and checking into a hostel..

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been on Couchsurfing since September 2011 when I first got a taste of Surfing. Since then I've been hooked, surfing in France, Italy, Turkey, Germany, India and hosted people from Canada, Spain and Finland in my student homes' in Leeds. After a long spell travelling in the US, Mexico and Guatemala recently I am now transitioning into new living arrangements, so hope to be able to host once more from September 2016 in Leeds... in the meantime I am planning a couple of EuroTrips this summer, one to take part in a permaculture course in Spain and the other to re-connect with fellow travellers from around the globe I met in Guatemala in gatherings in France and Switzerland..

Interests

Travelling/bumming around, festivals/parties/opportunities for people to come together. A little bit of cooking, Hiking/long country walks, wild camping, foraging, reading, writing and music. Being outdoors.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies I like are American beauty, Forrest gump, Donnie Darko, Back to the Future, Into the Wild, Lord of the Rings, too many to name....

Books I like are How to be Free by Tom Hodgkinson, anything by Bill Bryson anything by Roald Dahl.,, I've never really studied History which is a bit of shame really, so trying to brush up there!

Music I like there is far too much in that department... I like anything that makes you happy and many things that make you emotional... recently I have been listening to The Resonators, Buena vista social club, Jimmy Cliff, Boogie Belgique, Milton Menasco and the big fiasco & Hedflux. Also a special mention to the poet Benjamin Zephaniah. True legend.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm sure this used to read 'Seen or Done': A starving woman refuse money

Teach, Learn, Share

Always happy to help out those wanting to improve English. Know the odd recipe, or if you want advice on how to have much fun with little money- I'm your man. A little bit of guitar perhaps if your a beginner. How to make housework enjoyable, and how to eat well and save money at the same time. I may not be able to teach you something but I may be able to point you in the right direction.

I would like to learn a language, and that language would most probably be French. I'd also like to learn to whistle so any help there would be great! And I'd like to learn some knots!
