ABOUT ME

Uprooted from Appalachia, I currently reside in Ibarra, Ecuador with my husband who is a native here. We cook great food, drink good wine, listen to good music, and enjoy time with good people. Our children are ages 3 and nearly 2, and they enjoy eating grapes and salchipapas(not necessarily together), drinking warm milk at night, dancing, kicking soccer balls, and chasing each other in circles.

PHILOSOPHY

Why do I live my life?? Because I am always on the way to something, and its most exciting when I'm not sure what that something is. I live my life to see my children grow, to make the world a better place for them to grow, and to sow love wherever I go, so people will be reaping it long after I'm gone.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to Couch Surfing, but love the idea of people all around the world opening their homes to each other. This must be where peace begins. We have plenty of space, but please keep in mind that our children's safety and comfort is our top priority. So we are all at their mercy :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've never used Couch Surfing, but when I moved to NYC with no living arrangements and not much money, I couch surfed for almost 2 months, with beautiful people in Brooklyn, and then on Long Beach. It was a wonderful experience to see that, regardless of what we have been taught about NYC and the world in general, there are still good people out there.

Music: Right now, I am really into Viva la Vida (Coldplay), and John Legend. I like underground hip hop, Bossa Nova, bluegrass, classic country, Latin rock, mixed with some Pearl Jam and Incubus.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think I saw a UFO when I was 8. I was in Rome, Italy when Bush gave the ultimatum and was there for all the protests. I was also in NYC for the Republican Convention in 2004 (what a mess).
I pushed two babies out of my body.

Teach, Learn, Share

Let's see. I know alot about natural childbirth, cloth diapering, breastfeeding, and pre and postnatal care. I'm learning about the montessori method. I can paint. I know Heidegger pretty well, and the Bible. My husband is into small business consulting and guerrilla marketing. He's also a soccer fanatic.
