About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Walkin' around Europe

ABOUT ME

Grew up on a farm outside of the middle of nowhere, Idaho. Spent the past five years in wonderful Portland, Oregon refining my taste for coffee, beer, and also going to school sometimes.

After college, I was customer support for an early stage Objective-C startup, but then I quit and now I'm seeing what I can see.

Right now I'm in Europe for eleven weeks. Berlin, Prague, Budapest, and Tuscany.

PHILOSOPHY

I've learned just enough to know that I don't know enough.

Trying to find a place where I can do good while doing no harm.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Fairly new to the Couchsurfing organization. Looking for things to see and people to meet. Traveling at the moment.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Nothing but positive experiences!

Interests

Ultimate Frisbee, rock climbing (bouldering mostly), cycling (motorized or otherwise), hiking, liftin' weights, rivers.

Also bourbon, beer and software development.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't read as much as I'd like these days, but I'm always a sucker for Vonnegut.

Almost always have music of some description going. Folk, post rock, rap, trap, witch house, dream pop, etc.

And a good film never goes amiss. Some good ones I've seen recently were Under the Skin, Grand Budapest Hotel, and Hunger. I think Darren Aronofsky is a solid director.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing place I've ever been was a small natural pool that opened into the ocean outside of Hana, Maui, Hawaii.

That experience provided me more than enough evidence to convince me that heaven exists on earth.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a better learner than teacher, I think, but I'm certainly open to talking about who I am and where I'm from. I can also talk at length on various topics in physics and computer science if that's what you're into :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Mexico, Slovenia, Switzerland, United States, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
