About Me

Hello, I'm Weicheng ( or you can call me Alec ) from China and now I am studying in UBC, Canada. Having been in this planet for 22 years, what I'm most excited about is going out of my comfortable zone and staying with people from different corners of the world. This is a great way to learn about their life, their stories as well as the various culture. Moreover, I'm the one who is indeed willing to share my stories with the other, what I experienced in China and other countries. Look forward to getting in touch with amazing people in couchsurfing!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's a great way to meet up with local people, learning about their cities, life and stories as well as to share my own with the others.

When I was a freshman in university, I joined AIESEC and offered a local volunteer project for 12 people from 11 countries as a team leader. It was one of the greatest two months for me. We lived together in the apartment we rent, did the project to protect traditional culture in China. In this period of time, I learnt a lot about different culture and how to respect them as well as letting these guys learn about a China they've never learnt. Though two years have passed, we still keep in touch and two of them are going back to China in September this year. It is amazing!

Another experience is last summer. I did the volunteer work in the slum in Kenya, Africa. At that time I lived with other volunteers from all around the world. We worked together, learned people's life in Africa especially in the slum. We went to safari, watched animals migrating and enjoyed the gorgeous senery along the Indian Ocean. An unforgettable memory.

These two experiences are like hosting the others and being hosted in couchsurfing. I reckon here is a great platform to meet up with more amazing people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sailling to the really deep sea far away from the coast with a pathetically small boat and the high ocean waves to see the dolphins in my 21st birthday.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would like to learn about people's life style, their culture, amazing stories, hobbies, bliefs, travelling experience and everything!

I'm really interested in different musical instruments so it will be great if I can learn some I've never touched before.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you are interested in Chinese culture and instruments, I am indeed willing to teach hah. I can also share my experience in other countries and my stories with you.
