About Me

I grew up in a small town in Massachusetts in the United States. Currently I live in Chicago. Love to travel and experience new cultures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To be exposed to new cultures, people and experiences. Meeting locals is one of the best parts of traveling.

If I’m being hosted or hosting, I prefer if we can hang out together. Of course, I understand if you’re busy and don’t have time. I’m always grateful for a place to sleep or to help someone out who needs a place.

Interests

I enjoy hiking, running, meditation, reading books, video games, nature, playing music, coffee, traveling, psychology, exploring, eating healthy, trying new things, learning about different cultures, walking around aimlessly in new places, meeting new people and deep conversation.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ten day trek in the bolivian amazon rainforest during which all of our food, except for some flour, salt, and two apples, were washed away in a flood on the second night. We continued and completed the trek.

Traveled through latin america from Mexico City to Santiago, Chile for 8 months while learning the spanish language from scratch.

Traveled around Bangladesh for 21 days while meeting some of the most giving and kind people I’ve ever met and also having the opportunity to participate in a week of wedding festivities in a small village.

Traveled overland through Brazil for three months from Porto Alegre in the far south to Macapá in the far north while learning portuguese, and then continued through French Guiana, Suriname, and Guyana.

Trek with a guide and a dog in northern Cambodia during wet season in which we forded rivers, fended off hundreds upon hundreds of leeches, built a bamboo raft to navigate the rushing rapids, got attacked by a wild hog, stayed overnight with an isolated family living deep in the jungle, and avoided spiders larger than my hand.

Traveled overland for three months from Budapest, Hungary thru many of the balkan countries and into Turkey, including the kurdish region along the syrian border, into georgia, then Armenia and finally ending in Baku, Azerbaijan.

And much, much more!
