About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Would like to couchsurf between Dec 23 and Jan 7 ideally in England or Belgium or Spain or Switzerland but open to other offers

ABOUT ME

I am widely traveled, besides the US I have lived in Brazil, Portugal, Haiti and the UK.
Want to learn Dutch. Plan on going to teach in either UK or Belgium.

PHILOSOPHY

Never judge anyone. Everybody is different, and that is a good thing. I firmly believe in the goodness of human nature. I love to learn and understand the world around me and its people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At this point I am not sure.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The first week of January, we stayed at Marc's place in Tienen, Brabant, Belgium. He was just the greatest host and I would recommend him to any traveller!

Interests

People, foreign cultures, different places, books, museums, castles, opera, classical music, history, genealogy, interacting with more people. Football too.

Music, Movies, and Books

Open to all, but I suppose I have rather classical tastes: I enjoy old B § W films, Mozart, Jane Austen, PG. Wodehouse and W. Somerset Maugham.
I loved English Lit so much that I did not want to set foot in England for fear of being disappointed. I did, and wish I never had.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelling alone through Haiti and Brazil. How do I miss my friends from Belo Horizonte and Fortaleza.
Staying with a Gypsy community in Spain.
Teaching how to read to illiterate children and older people.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to teach. I also enjoy being a language therapist for dyslexic, learning disabled or just illiterate peole. Besides I am qualified to administer psychometrics/personality tests. I am particularly enthusiastic about the MBTI and would gladly share info about it to anyone who is interested in getting to know this instrument widely and worldly regarded as one of the best personality indicators. It is a great way to understand about oneself and others.
