Doing research before my travels is a must! I do this 3 months prior. I always make sure to learn the safety, do's and dont's, tourist spots, not-so tourist spots (but must-visit), best time to visit, holidays and feativals and many-many more. It's like taking a crash course of a specific country. I always wanted to live as a local even for a short time and do what they do on a daily basis.
