About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy life!! : )

ABOUT ME

I am an airfield fire fighter working in Oxfordshire. I enjoy my job and it's good to do something that keeps me fit. I am not sure I will stay in this job forever and I can see myself becoming a teacher later in life. It's a new part of the UK for me around here and I'm still getting to know the area. I moved here in 2013 for the job. I haven't been on this website for a couple of years, but I am very excited to be using it again and hope to meet some new people! :) Everything below this paragraph is a few years old but I will keep it so you know a little bit about me.

I love health, activity and sport. Until recently I was working in a hospital as a physiotherapy assistant in Bradford. Since then I have applied to the Navy and I hope to become an officer, I have moved to Birmingham to live with family, save money and wait for the outcome of my application. I work in a bar in the city centre.

I love to learn new things especially about people and cultures, and try to keep fit. I play for and train with a with a local badminton club.

I graduated from university in Leeds, love that city and maybe one day I'll move back but for now I wish to see as much of the world as possible. Travelling in the last few years and going to university has opened my eyes to a lot, I plan to travel as much as I physically can over my life and meet as many beautiful people as possible.

My latest adventure to Turkey and Istanbul (2010) was the most rewarding in terms of meeting wonderful people and seeing a mix of interesting and new cultures living together in relative harmony ...it has lit a fire to explore further and further afield and that's why I have joined CouchSurfing!! : )

PHILOSOPHY

Not to over-complicate life, keep it simple. Find what makes you happy and go for it! : )

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't had the opportunity to couch surf since 2010/11 when I visited Krakow and Istanbul :)
I don't live somewhere I am able to host at the moment, hopefully in the future that will change.
I am happy to and enjoy meeting with people and help them with local knowledge and show them cool places around where I live.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had my first experience in Turkey September 2010 - where I was queuing for concert tickets in Istanbul and got talking to a friendly local guy (Rados!!) ahead of us in the queue. I knew practically nothing about CS, Rados was my impression and whether he knew it or not the reputation of CS was on his shoulders as far as I was concerned! He invited us to a party ...strange city, only there for a few more days, just met someone in a queue ...so the British person in me was automatically suspicious but life is too short to be British in every respect and I trusted my instinct and said "hell yes, why not!!" So I met up with my new friend, got a little too drunk (didn't lose all of my britishness! lol), needed somewhere to stay in my inebriated state and slept on his couch. What a fantastic time! We got drunk with them again and met loads of other CS members the following night... the rest they say is history, so here I am : )

...Later in the year after getting back home from Turkey, I travelled to Poland to stay with two lovely girls I met in Istanbul who were couch surfing.

Interests

The list could be endless!!! Currently jus picked up: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. Last movie I saw at the cinema was Inception and next band I have tickets for are Biffy Clyro. In terms of music specifically I have such a broad interest from bands like Google Bordello and listening to balken gypsy beats to listening and raving to trance music, especially progressive and vocal trance djs like above and beyond and armin van buuren.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going to univeristy was the catalyst to a lot of good things in my life after growing up in a small town and not experiencing much of life until that point!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a qualified sports massuer, fist aider and swimming teacher.
Would love to pick up any new skill, so I won't limit myself to a list :)
