Overview
About Me
Hi!
My name is Wendy, I'm 27 and as most of you on here, I love to travel. A couple of months ago I came home from 10 months abroad. And of course that meant: time to earn some coins. But I also got myself a superfun apartment and the first thing I thought of was couch surfing! I had a few amazing experiences through this concept and I would love to contribute via the other way.
I am from the Netherlands, Roelofarendsveen to be more specific, a small town 20 minutes from Amsterdam. My dad is a tulip grower and has a bunch of green houses behind our house. It doesn't really get any more Dutch than this :P
And now I live in Leiden, a super nice small city close to, well basically everything.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet new people, share experiences and cultures. And have FUN! :D also to practice my language skills and perhaps find new partners in crime to join me on some adventures!
And mostly now: to live vicariously through you and your travels. Inspire me more and convince me about new places I have to spend all my vacation days on!

Music, Movies, and Books
Karaoke, roadtrip sing a long, reggaeton, indie. Basically everything except for mindnumbing techno. I just don’t know what to do with that.
All tha movies. From horror to mushi gushi, from action to documentary. Bring on your favorites!
And books? Harry Potter. All day. All the way.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitchhiked through Morocco and slept in the dessert. Worked with black bears in New Brunswick, made 2 concrete sculptures in Nova Scotia, climbed an active volcano in Guatemala and saw it erupt every 30 min all night long as we were camping there, went to Sunday Funday (3 times), danced the Texas Two-Step with a real cowboy and crashed a bachelorette party in South Africa.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you the basics of a few latin dances, I can teach you some inappropriate words in Dutch (or full sentenses if you're eager). Also I talk a lot and have a huge amount of travel stories all my friends are tired of hearing about.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can tell you all about the Netherlands and, although I haven't seen it all (by far not) about Europe.
I am great company to have a drink with, to watch a movie with, to talk to, to go out and DANCE with! I love to dance, clubbing but also salsa, a bit of bachata, kizomba and other latin dances. Really open to learning more types of dance!
Having said that, I also value space and privacy a lot. Depends on the host and what you would prefer of course :) I also love to just chill, watch Netflix, write on my blog or catch up with my friends and family back home through Skype.
