To carry on enjoying my couch surfing and hosting experience. Well, I haven't been a guest yet, but I love to host. To make my German fluent one day! To use my other languages too. To make our guests feel welcome, happy and comfortable.

ABOUT ME

I am disabled since 2015 with a rare condition. It's not gonna kill me, but it hurts like hell. I walk using sticks. However, I am (usually!) a positive and happy person. I really like meeting people and I love to look after them too. I am an amazing listener. I love life.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My son and I have just hosted our very first Couch Surfer. Wonderful experience. We would host again in a heartbeat. Our only constraint is the comfort and stress level of our little cat. He's ok with a visitor now and again, but not all the time.
Ok, so our second and third Couch Surfers left for home yesterday and we miss them already - hosting just gets better and better! (Our little Scaredy Cat is still not convinced of this...!)
Third Couchsurfing Experience was every bit as nice as the first two! From now on, I will have to treat this page as an Overview, however - and not a blog...
...suffice to say..."I love Couchsurfing!"

My family, my wee cat, my friends, languages, travel, cooking, reading, writing, politics, cinema, music, art. My son is very interested in politics, video games and tabletop gaming.

Just ONE amazing thing? Nope...sorry...life is full of amazing things each and every day...

I saved a person's life by performing the Heimlich Maneuver on them :-) I should probably add that at the time, I was already trained in how to do this, thankfully! :-)

I have been driven through the desert in the darkest nights many times, with my favourite Egyptian singer on the radio - Um Kalthoum, I love her amazing, heart-rending voice...

Teach - I can help you with the English language. I used to be a fully qualified and registered teacher. Nowadays I am medically retired.

Learn - I love to learn about people, places, languages, philosophies, politics, science, art, new music and so much more.

Share - we love to share good veggie food and great hospitality if you are our couchsurfer. I've been given the most amazing praise about my Lentil and Tomato Soup and my Patatas Bravas 🍅🥔🍲😁 This has increased my self-esteem greatly 😁❤ Cooking news! My son and I are learning how to make "Indian Restaurant" food. I have to say that we can now make fantastic Bombay Potatoes!

If you are so kind as to host us, we would love to give you a couple of little gifts from our country - which is Scotland (not the UK, and not part of England, haha).
