About Me

Currently in Nusa Penida, Indonesia!

Hello, I'm Wen and I am from Brooklyn, New York City. I fell in love with traveling after studying abroad in Dublin, Ireland way back in 2016. Since then I have explored all around Europe, Asia, and my home country USA. Although I am now tied to full time work and graduate school in NYC, I try my best to go on trips in my spare time and meet other travelers. We are such an amazing community of people and it would be my pleasure to contribute to that.

I am friendly and very easy-going. Extreme food and beer enthusiast. Love exploring places and being adventurous. Always willing to try something new.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling is life, hotels are overrated, and meeting new people pushes me forward!!

Since I often travel, I want to save some money by not booking too many hotels or hostels. One of my friends first told me about Couchsurfing back in 2016 and it sounded awesome. I love meeting new people and making new friends so for me, Couchsurfing sounds like the best way to meet someone from a certain country and at the same time, grants me a more hands on interaction with the culture of that country. Likewise, I would love to show people my city as well. I have lived in New York City for over 20 years and would be more than happy to show any potential visitors around.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I would have visited 29 countries by the end of 2019 and I think that's a pretty impressive feat for a new traveler. I have also dropped my phone in a hot spring once and I managed to fix it with a hair dryer - so I'm your guy to call if you need someone to fix your phone.

Teach, Learn, Share

I strongly believe that most people in life treat others with the same respect they are given which is why I will aim to be both most respectful traveler and host I can be.

Travel is a universal right and everyone deserves to see the planet they inhabit in. There needs to be ways to make this more affordable for everybody and CS is a great community who continues to inspire me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my company obviously, but also I'd love to go out for some drinks and have dinner. And if you ever stop by in New York, you know who to call!
Also I will love to share travel experiences and stories.
