About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Clean cooking in Kenya...and enjoying the avocado season
ABOUT ME
I love to be involved, whether it be singing opera, following my purpose in my career in East Africa, skiing down a mountain, baking an amazing pie, sharing photos of my fur-baby; I love to live life with a mixture of spontaneity and purpose. I love a heated and passionate debate, and I love learning for the sake of learning.
PHILOSOPHY
I live to help people. It's why I became an engineer. I like to solve social problems and the best way I know how is to develop solutions that are sustainable and empower people to bring themselves out of difficult situations. I also live for my next big feast.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I live in some crazy places, and wouldn't mind to have a similarly-minded vagabond to share my experiences with. I also love to cook for people - I'm serious let me make you some awesome Mexican molé, or Thai laarb gai, or Nigerian dodo...But I'd love to learn some new dishes too!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've mostly hosted for a bunch of friends from my university where we went to my hometown in Maine. I brought them to the coast and had lobster, hiked a mountain for spectacular views, jumped into the lake for a splash, and made memories! I've couchsurfed in China until I found my own place to set up in Shanghai. I've also used CouchSurfing for long layovers - to get a taste of the city and connect with interesting people worldwide!

I'm willing to try just about anything! I love discovering new cuisine, the outdoors, crafting, music and more.

Music, Movies, and Books
Obsessed with period dramas, will binge a good docuseries. Currently reading "the wolves at the door".
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Helped my grandmother of 85 climb to the top of the Tower of Pisa as well as travel through Italy! I also got her on her first rollercoater at 88.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm an excellent writer, speller, and grammar nerd which is surprising since I'm an engineer.
I like to tinker so I can fix most household things (is your sink not draining - I can clean the trap!)
I am a really good cook, I've won some prizes in my hometown. Let me cook for you.
I speak several languages and love to teach - I'm serious about this I substitute teach everything from parsing Hamlet to Calculus. I want to learn more languages!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd love to cook for you - it's how I express my gratitude and love! Stories of traveling, and tips for how to do it in our part of the world.
