ABOUT ME
Traveling around the world and doing interesting things is fun, but also enriching. I like to meet interesting people who have unique perspectives that broaden my own, and I hope that's reciprocal. I'm pretty easy going and up for anything, whether it's a relaxed conversation over dinner, a crazy adventure or party, or just walking around seeing new places. In the end, I think it's the people you meet that define the traveling experience.
I try my best to adapt to new situations and am pretty open minded. I believe there's an art of conversation and an art to having fun. Look forward to meeting people.
I'm a Chinese-American from the USA but I've been traveling or living in other countries for two years now.
PHILOSOPHY
"The world fascinates me." -- Andy Warhol
"The highest accomplishment of human consciousness is the imagination, and the highest accomplishment of the imagination is empathy and the ability to love." -- Dean Young
"Be water, my friend." -- Bruce Lee
"Laughter is the best medicine." -- Someone
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Respect is big for me. If I'm a guest and you are my host then I'm there at the generosity of your hospitality. Respect.
And if I'm hosting you then vice-versa.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I got started on couch surfing by accident. When I was living in Indonesia, friends of mine were hosts but sometimes their place would be full, so then I started hosting. After meeting a bunch of really cool and interesting people I decided to surf and it's been really great.
Interests
Music (I play guitar and rap but love banging on random objects to make rhythms. Other interests are electronic dance music, rap/hip-hop, experimental and avant-garde, indie rock, alot of stuff).
Poetry (Dean Young is great, it's hard for me to pick favorites because I think it's about appreciating each genre at what they do, but I guess I'm more into contemporary perspectives).
Philosophy (critical theory, gender theory, process philosophy, Buddhism and Taoism lately, Deleuze, Whitehead, Nietzsche, philosophy of art).
Culture is huge for me. And I think for most people using this site.
Digital communication. I have entrepreneurial energy and really like to conceptualize creative communications projects with digital media. The opportunity to apply left and right brain thinking in the process of creating and connecting people is really rewarding to me.

Music, Movies, and Books
Wow, too many to list.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Stories are always better told in person, but I was traveling homeless for two weeks in Taiwan, lost for a while on a kayak in a heavy rain in the Indian Ocean, learned how to drive a motorcycle and took it to an abandoned village on an active volcano, DJ'ed in Santiago Chile, and more to come.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm super happy to collaborate on fun things and learn from each other too. Music engineering, copywriting, basic photography, and some basic marketing stuff is what I can offer. Oh, and languages. I love the thrill of learning new things - always.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Great vibes, great perspective, good homecooked meals, conversation, fun.
