About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Move our family to BullHead City AZ.

ABOUT ME

Right now We are in a transitional time. I'm starting a new job in Denver and we are slowly leaving our old home in Tucson. Needless to say it is complicated, I start work on the 9th of January and with my family back home in Arizona I am hoping that I will be able to stay surf around a bit at least one more time before we are settled and mostly contain our selves to hosting.

We are a VERY busy people. Always over loading ourselves in an effort to do everything, but I don't know how any young family could do live any other way.

My wife and I are happy people who love to try new things and talk with our friends. Our children are just as active and social as we are, so they keep us pretty stimulated.

I try to keep EVERYTHING in moderation, which thankfully includes our moderation.

Lets solve the world's problems with science, logic, and reasoning. Not to imply there is no place for Religion and humanity.

FAIR WARNING
I tend to be more conservative than the average couch surfer. However, if you have no interest in discussing politics I will not seek out a debate, or try to convince any one they are wrong, no matter how much we differ. One of my core beliefs is that we are all trying to make the world a better place for everyone, and we just have different ideas about how it should be done. I truly enjoy discussing and talking about social issues with passionate people, and so long as we treat each other with respect I foresee only the opportunity for an increase understanding.

PHILOSOPHY

There is never enough time, so decide fast, and never judge until I've given it everything I have.

"There are more things in Heaven and Earth than are dremped of in your philosophy, Horatio" -Shakespeare

"Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever." -Gandhi

"In Germany, they first came for the communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Catholic. Then they came for me -- and by that time there was nobody left to speak up." -- Martin Niemller

I'd rather die thinking I'm invincible then live a century in a lonely house.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Being friendly to everyone I meet.

Remaining open to new ideas with neither naivete nor reluctance . . . (Hopefully)

And making an effort to travel more than the average bear.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The people I've met in CS have been some of the happiest and most liberated of anyone I have known!

I want a piece of that!

I have surfed a couple times. In Denver (my first experience) I had the great pleasure of staying on the King of Colorado's couch. I have to say, staying on the couch of someone I had never met before was very humbling.

I've hosted once as well, very different, but also very good. unfortunately I did learn that the age old saying, "Fish and House guests smell after 3 days" still holds true.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I even like bad movies because it helps you to appreciate the good ones. Only twice have I wished I had never watched a movie and wanted those moments of my life back. 1. Cannibal the Musical. 2. Time Quest
I guess I like television better, though I am currently boycotting modern movies and TV till I have watched the classics like Freaks, M, The day the Earth Stood Still, Gone with the Wind, Casablanca, Dr. Strangelove, etcetera.

Music: Similar to movies I like it all accept Metal. My favorites are The Tabasco Donkeys (if you know who they are please contact me) Johnny Cash, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Cake, Steppenwolf, And I am not above listening to whatever the hit is at the time.

Books I never Read enough:
Dystopia novels, LOTR, Crime and Punishment, Harry Potter, Mining books

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Flew a small plane and got a merit badge for it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't know much, but I do know if it can't be grown it has to be mined. Along those lines, I believe that every person in the world has the right to electricity and running water in their homes. We're not even half way there, so let's get started.

"Try to listen twice as much as you talk, you'll learn more that way" . . . "The first idea on the table is usually a stepping stone to the final product, so don't feel like you have to say something right away."- - My Dad

"It's really a wonder that I haven't dropped all my ideals, because they seem so absurd and impossible to carry out. Yet I keep them, because in spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart."
-Anne Frank

"Be the change you want to see in the world"
-Mahatma Gandhi

"May you live in interesting times, and may you find what you are looking for."
