About Me

ABOUT ME

I am said to have an unforgettable bitter sense of humour. When I leave, that's what people miss.

PHILOSOPHY

A mind is like a parachute - it only works when it is open. (Frank Zappa)
However - An open mind is not the same as an empty head (Day, 1999)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to use your couches for some time, as I love travelling and _must_ go to various destinations. I promise to buy one by Christmas to be able to host as well.
UPDATE: We have bought an extra bed, but currently we have a charming flatmate for a couple of months. Expected availability of my place for couchsurfers: Summer '15.
Upon logging I found dozens of people from my home town - wow - I would love to meet you in person.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to the couchsurfing.org but I have practiced couchsurfing before. I stayed in Paris in a friendly painter's flat, whom I had never met before, although we had grown up in the same neighbourhood. I hosted a friend's friend - who left us as a thank you gift a big bottle of Di Saronno seeing ours was nearly empty. I only use this for baking, so it took us another 3 years to empty this one;) I also hosted a colleague from my undergraduate studies and his bike. I was really happy to meet him by chance on a London airport a year or two afterwards.

Music, Movies, and Books

Bill Bryson's books - love his humour. My love affair with his writing began when I found his book on a shelf in a flat I rented in Florence, whoever left it there - thank you!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I made it from Fiesole to Pisa airport in less than two hours;)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good humour and interestign stories.

I bake good muffins and prepare tasty salads. Unfortunately, I am not a good ambasador of the Polish cuisine.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, France, Germany, Netherlands, Slovakia, Ukraine

Countries I’ve Lived In

Italy, Poland, United Kingdom
