About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel EVERYWHERE

ABOUT ME

I am a laid back person that enjoys meeting new people, traveling and trying new things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've mostly participated by attending events all over Europe. I've surfed a couple times which were great experiences, and I'd like to surf more. I'd also like to host people, and now that I've finally stopped moving around so much - I can hopefully do that!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A few events and surfing twice. Want more!

Music, Movies, and Books

My tastes in the different entertainment mediums are extremely varied.

In books - I read anything. Fantasy, science fiction, thriller or dramatic novels. Scientific books. Biographies. Self-help style discovery books (from healthy eating, to athletics, to psychological phenomena). My e-reader has over 300 books which fall into almost any genre you can think of!

In music - my favourite genre is definitely grunge rock. Followed closely by hard rock and then everything else with only country not welcome on my iPod. My favourite bands are Alice in Chains, Tool, and Soundgarden.

In movies - I'll watch anything and everything, although I tend to avoid overly sappy movies and definitely prefer movies which tell interesting stories or stories that make you think.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There are few experiences more amazing than a day I had in 2011. I had been hiking the Inca Trail for 3 days and the day in question was the 4th. It was my birthday and we were awakened at 4am for breakfast where the porters had somehow hauled a cake (still in perfect condition) all the way from Cuzco. After breakfast birthday cake we began the 5am hike up to the Sun Gate where we watched the sun rise over Machu Picchu as the mists drifted in and out of the fortress.

Day finally broke and it was a glorious sunny day that we spent wandering the ruins and enjoying Machu Picchu before making our way down to Aguascalientes for a lunch feast and birthday drinks - including authentic Chicha.

After making it to Cuzco we all showered and got prepared for a nice night out for dinner before going drinking in an Irish pub and then dancing late into the night in the Cuzco night clubs.

Best. Birthday. Ever.
