ABOUT ME
I have now returned to Kauai after 6 months of dissolving my mainland life. Many changes in the last month have lead me to where I am seated right now, overlooking beautiful ocean.
I currently am WOOFING and cannot host but would love to meet fantastic locals and travelers to explore this beautiful island with.
I spent the past 3 years in an earthship in Taos, New Mexico, learning about growing, farming, rabbits, and myself. This was a wonderfully enriching time in my life but I felt ready to branch out, to see the world.
I hope to find different places to stay during my time in Kauai and to experience the island in many different ways.
Kalalau is a place I feel truly at home and one with the earth and myself and I anxiously await my return!
I am often most comfortable around plants and animals but also love all good hearted, sincere, open people.
It has been a hard adjustment leaving my cat and bunnies behind in August 2013 to return to Hawaii and travel the world hopefully.
PHILOSOPHY
treat others as you want to be treated. care for the earth and ourselves. learn about ourselves so we can interact better with others. enjoy life daily. eat healthy. be self reliant. Remember we are in control of ourselves and take the reigns.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I first couchsurfed here in Kauai back in December and then couchsurfed across The Big Island and Maui. I met fantastic, loving, sharing people and always helped however I could even if it was just being a friend to my host.
In Taos, I often hosted travelers and fellow couchsurfers. I know how valuable a safe landing point and a place to be ones self can be when we are traveling and I immensely enjoyed providing a safe haven for my fellow travellers. Now I may be looking for one myself so stay in touch!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Kind of explored in How I participate
Interests
I love nature. I love spirited, kind, fun people. I love animals, especially bunnies. Love healthy food. not into heavy drinking or partying. Not stridently against it either. enjoying life and trying to thrive. Traveling! Camping!
Music, Movies, and Books
Musics all great. Dont judge me for not being a music snob! I am also a singer.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I did Burning Man 7 times and that really changed my life to be in persuit of full-tile self reliance.
Being in Hawaii has felt like a homecoming to myself and the land.
hiking kalalau four times in nine days and surviving falling off a cliff with only minor scratches!
kayaked and zip lined with the blind
81 days in Hawaii which showed me full time self reliance is too extreme and that a balance of sharing with others is what makes life so sweet.
Teach, Learn, Share
I will share here a philosophy I have on basic human perspective, because I see, even with the ones closest to me, how different our pperspectives can be. When you realize that quite literally we live on a sphere, consider that quite literally each of us is sitting in a different spot. A slightly different tilt. We are all coming from different places. We are all sitting and sharing this same sphere, but from different angles. In other words, we are all looking at the same thing, from a different spot. This means that at times we can be looking at exactly the same thing as someone else and seeing something completely different. this is perspective. I believe we all as evolved humans must take control and remember that everyone is just cruising at their own altitude, tuned to their own station, or sitting on their side of the pond. What is black to me may be white to you, and this is ok, and exciting. Its only natural we will gravitate to those who sit at a similar tilt, for pure ease of communication, but we can also all step ourselves up to a higher consciousness by being the ones who are able to recognize both sides of the spectrum. we can see what we cant through the eyes of others.
