About Me

CURRENT MISSION

NO LAST MINUTE (SAME DAY OR NEXT DAY) REQUESTS PLEASE.
PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN SHEETS OR SLEEPING BAG, and acknowledge this in your request.
To share and share alike. I'm fortunate to live by the sea and love others to see how beautiful Dorset really is.Please mention the word WEYMOUTH to show that you have read my profile. If not, you will receive a standard reply - 'Sorry, away then. Please read my profile.'

I ONLY HAVE A SINGLE ROOM SPARE SO IDEALLY SOLO TRAVELLERS ONLY - I AM MORE LIKELY TO HOST SURFERS WITH LOTS OF REFERENCES OR A DETAILED PROFILE.
If you have not Couchsurfed before - look at this - https://goo.gl/zRpa0q about sending a request.

ABOUT ME

I live, and just occasionally do some work in Bournemouth, taking time off to go to mountain ranges and Med beaches - no intention of working until I drop!

PHILOSOPHY

You reap what you sow - share your time and experiences with others.
'What can I do for you?', is infinitely preferable to 'What's in it for me?' don't you think?
Like to live by the seasons - buying food grown locally, growing my own food, collecting 'food for free' from the wild - picking blackberries, wild garlic, wild apple trees.

Music, Movies, and Books

Bob Dylan, 60's folk, Americana music, books mostly non fiction,Jared Diamond my favourite author - marvellously erudite science writer, check out his excellent book Guns,Germs and Steel - Doctor and Guardian columnist Ben Goldacre's Bad Science is a great read too. Films don't see many but The Usual Suspects my top movie.
BBC 6 music is a treasure, Radio 4 provides quality talk radio.Late Junction on Radio 3 Tues-Thurs late night plays an eclectic mix of music styles and is well worth checking out.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing Stromboli in the Med and watching vulcanic activity at sunset.Running my first marathon in Florence on my 40th birthday - in under 3 hours too.
