CURRENT MISSION

I'm currently having a good time as much of the time as I can. I'm concentrating hard on pursuing my varied musical projects and I'm travelling whenever my work timetable allows.

ABOUT ME

I grew up in Leicestershire and moved to Sheffield just over a decade ago to study at University. I really love living here and so when I finished at University I stayed. Weekdays I work in my laboratory at the University and on weeknights and weekends I try to get out as often as possible. I play the violin and sing in a variety of different bands and have very many musical friends and so usually I can be found watching a band or playing in one!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted a few surfers on my couch now. One of them is now romantically involved with one of my very best friends so I see her quite often still. I've also had good times staying with Eva in Ljubljana & Regula and Lucien in Biel.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As a musician I've travelled around the UK and surfed many couches but internationally I'm a bit of a newcomer. I stayed for a night with Niki, a new friend, in Budapest and was put up for an night in Bern by Seb, another new friend. Neither of them are on this site, just people I met out and about. My experiences with them both have really given me a taste for the whole couchsurfing idea so I joined up.

Interests

Mostly my interests are musical. I sing a bit in bands but mainly I play violin. I love performing with my bands and I love to do live jam sessions and improvised music nights too. Wherever I am in the World I'll usually have a violin with me.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to a bit of everything. I got into music through grunge and I love rock music. I decide what I like by band rather than by genre.

As far as movies go I think my favourite is Withnail & I.

When I get chance to read I like to escape into a fantasy novel. George R.R. Martin's a Song of Ice And Fire being a current favourite.
