ABOUT ME

I am a university professor, personal trainer, businessman, and author. I also do a bit of modeling for athletic wear. I am adventurous and love to travel...thus my desire to join. I love to meet people from all over the world. In the summer of 2009 I went to the Bahamas, Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, and England. This past summer I traveled to Mexico, the Cayman Islands, Spain, Austria, and Slovenia once again. I made wonderful friends and learned about couchsurfing in Slovenia. I hope to make lots of additional friends and enjoy mutually satisfying relationships. One note, however. I really need at least a week of notice to host. My work schedule is extremely busy and in order to host you properly and take you around Miami I need time to adjust my schedule. It is also much better for me to host on weekends since I work quite late during the week. On weekends I will be more available to show you around and be a good host. You should also know that I have two small, well-behaved dogs. Thanks!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I will host people in Miami and I hope to be hosted when abroad. As a test to see if you have actually read my complete profile, please send your request in the form of a message, not a couch request. I answer everyone who writes to me but I absolutely hate couch requests. When I try to send one I frequently get an error reading and when I reply to them it often says, "done, but with errors on page." Therefore, once again, please just write me a message. I will decline anyone who sends a couch request because it will be an obvious signal that you haven't taken the time to actually read my profile. I don't want to come off like a pain the a$$ about this, but I believe that if one person would like another to open his home for him (or her), that person should at least take a moment to read the person's profile. Otherwise the person making the request comes off as someone who is just looking for a freebie, not a friendship. Furthermore, I will almost never host two people at the same time, and I will never host two unless both are members of CS. If the person you are traveling with is a member please include his/her name so I can review the profile. If the person is not a member, please don't ask me to host. Thanks.

I am an exercise enthusiast and I hold a personal trainer certification. I used to cycle professionally. I love languages, cultures, traveling, international cuisines, and entrepreneurship. I am also an inventor. I recently patented a wetsuit with a shark deterrent for surfers and I am trying to find investors and get it on the market.

I wrote a book, Plucked from the Fire, about a gentleman that escaped the 81st floor of the World Trade Center's South Tower. They actually made a TV special from my book, which is currently on DVD.

I am an international business and language professor at Florida Iternational University in Miami, Florida, and I have traveled extensively. I am a fitness buff so I enjoy showing friends the wonderful things Miami has to offer in the outdoor arena...hiking and cycling the Everglades, bodysurfing at the beach, etc.
