ABOUT ME

I'm originally from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, but grew up mostly in the Boston area. I went to Hampshire College, where I studied ecology before doing a thesis project there where I created a 3d map of the campus.

In 2010 I studied abroad in Costa Rica for three months. Although challenging at times, it was one of the best experiences I've ever had. Besides that, I've also been fortunate enough to have several opportunities to travel to Europe and the UK. In May 2016, I traveled to Hong Kong and Macau, where my parents now live, and also spent a few days touring Beijing.

I like taking pictures. I used to put some of the better shots on flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/wfletch/) but I haven't uploaded anything in a while.

In 2013, I quit my dead-end job and drove south, looking for a new place to live and new opportunities. Along the way I couch surfed, stayed in hostels and a few very cheap motels. I ended up in Austin, and fell in love with the city. I've been here for four years now.
