Overview
About Me
Practice piano (see picture), I like to sing, read books, learn languages, talk about random subjects, walking on beaches and in dunes, skating on natural ice, going to saunas when it's freezing outside, cooking for 200+ guests, experiencing live music (classical, jazz, ethnic, rock/ska/punk, experimental, all preferably contemporary)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've hosted guests for a few days. Considering I live in a housing community and not all of my roommates are happy with strangers walking through the house, there are perhaps some restrictions on the moving freedom of the guests. I like to get up very early.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books on plants and health. Calvin and Hobbes. Slauerhoff (Het Verboden Rijk/the forbidden Kingdom is great.) The Bourne identity.
The condition of postmodernity. Shakespeare.
Books by Richard Sennet and Jonathan Raban.
I have to read more I know.
Ferris Bueller's day off is my favourite movie but I prefer arthouse and documentaries. Books by Tonke Dragt, Daan Zonderland, Roald Dahl.
I mostly don't like movies everybody of my friends like: Into the Wild, Usual Suspects, The educators, because i already knew the ending to soon in the movie, let's say I don't like clichés (although I like clichés in romantic comedies and westerns).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Saw the northern lights in 3 different forms.
Won a few sporting events as a goal keeper.
Cooked pasta Bolognese for 300 persons.
Played rhapsody in blue for solo piano in public.
I was totally captured by Ceaucesku's fall in Roemenia, dutch soccer team winning EC footbal in 1988.
One time I actually saw the ending of a rainbow a few meters in front of me.
Sailing and skating are great!
