I am extremely open-minded guy who lives and works to travel. I live in Chicago and I am always looking to meet new people and encounter new experiences. I try not to take life very seriously (except my travel time, of course) and I enjoy spending time with people who feel the same way. I am open to trying anything and generally try not to judge any situation or person. Life is too short and as different as we may appear, we really are all the same.

PHILOSOPHY

What may seem strange to you or me is completely normal to someone somewhere. Very few things are "right" or "wrong" - it is all a matter of perspective.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am willing to host almost anyone and I love to give tours of the city. In the past, I volunteered my legal skills to help expand the CS network.

I have had nothing but excellent experiences. I am very lucky to have met the people I have on CS.

Politics, Russian/Eurasian policy, and current events (I was the Deputy Campaign Director for President Obama's U.S. Senate campaign); Foreign movies; Good wine; Photography; Dreaming; Bike riding; Meeting new people; and of course… TRAVEL.

I like history ... so any book on history, especially the Cold War and WWII.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Riga (2009): 3 bottles of champagne and a wild animal burger for breakfast ... dinner, live music, dancing, and trips to the moon at night ... all with newly discovered great friends ...

Budapest (2006): St. Stephen's Day ... running through the streets at night in the middle of a major storm with a good friend ...
