ABOUT ME
Born and raised in the Midwest, after graduating spent four years moving around the country for my job before ending up in New Jersey. Growing up I always enjoyed camping and hiking so as I moved around I took advantage of the new geography and tried my hand at new things like climbing, mountaineering and cycling. I've since settled down a little but still looking for the next adventure and a chance to meet interesting people passionate about new experiences.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is experience. The good ones make you happier, the bad ones make you stronger, the ones you let pass you by will be your only regrets.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Every Couch Surfing experience to date has been positive, with no two alike! I've primarily hosted travelers but eventually would love to see Europe, South America and Asia to do some surfing myself to explore these new places with the locals who know it best.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Overall excellent experience. I've met so many interesting people with unique histories, philosophies and goals that you rarely come across in everyday life. I seek out couch surfers not just for a place to sleep but also for information and perspective that you can't find in a guidebook. I recommend CS because it offers something authentic in contrast to the highly commercialized and sanitized travel industry.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
RAGBRAI - A 500+ mile bicycle trek in 7 days across the state of Iowa. Fantastic energy with all the beer and homemade pies you can handle.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm into anything outdoors so my main passions of hiking, rock climbing, camping, skiing, and alpine mountaineering are also my favorite to teach. I also have experience making beer, wine and jam, I have some computer knowledge from building my own and I'm also pretty handy with a camera. My formal educational background dealt with a lot of math and science so if you're passing through and need some help with your thermo homework I'm happy to dust off my textbooks. For anything else, just give me a few beers and I'll instantly become an expert.
