Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To experience life in such a way that family and friends question, "I wonder where in the world Pat is today."
ABOUT ME
I started traveling as a kid when my dad switched jobs. Since then I have visited/lived in more than 25 countries.
I studied in England and Ireland; taught English in Spain; and went SCUBA diving in Tanzania.
I come from a big family which helped me learn to take the bad with the good.
To be continued...
PHILOSOPHY
Siempre Forward, Siempre Learning. I developed this while teaching English in Madrid, Spain, for three years.
I have a couple others, but this one is the most near and dear to my heart, literally.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am finally in one place for a while and it is time to repay all the kindness I received while couch surfing throughout the years.
Even if I don't have room for a surfer(s), hit me up so we can meet up for coffee. I enjoy hearing stories from couch surfers.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I stayed with folks in different countries in East and Southern Africa (Kenya and Zambia to name just two places) for a few days in each place and enjoyed the time heaps. So far everyone has been nicer than my family, which is oddly satisfying.
Interests
Here goes:
Action/adventure sports/stuff your parent's told you not to do when you were a kid. This includes, rock climbing, SCUBA diving, traveling (duh), sky diving, Ai Ki Do, and running with scizzors (That's right, I do that too).
On the less dangerous side of things, I like reading historical fiction, learning languages, tasting new flavors, fusion music, and waxing eloquently on the finer points of cartoons.

Teach, Learn, Share
Never under estimate the importance of carrying your own roll of toilet paper. Like an eternal soul mate, it will go with you places that no one else will.
