About Me

CURRENT MISSION

perpetual adventures

ABOUT ME

I travel a lot, in fact from March to September I didn't really live anywhere in particular. I was in NYC for my birthday at the beginning of March, Austin for a few weeks for SXSW, Philly for the birth of my niece in April, NYC for a few weeks, DC and Richmond for two weeks, back to Austin for two in May, then SF for one, LA for two in July, Vegas for a few (three bachelor parties this year), eventually made it back to VA where my stuff was stored, packed it up in two days and drove cross country for the third time in the beginning of Sep. And that's how my life's been on and off for the past few years (I'm rarely bored)...

I grew up in Richmond, VA in the suburbs, played in bands and wanted to be a rock star in high school and early college, got a finance degree and decided that wasn't what i really wanted (got to travel around Europe after taking a summer class in Beliguim - that ignited my wanderlust), worked a bit and travelled when i could and moved to NYC to work in film, sublet my place and lived in Costa Rica for a summer (go surf Nosara), eventually started grad school back in VA for screenwriting and film studies (planning on starting a phd within 5 years), moved to LA while writing my thesis, moved away for a year to drift/write, just moved back and hoping to continue the adventures...

PHILOSOPHY

we go around once, make the most of it

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had one CS experience so far traveling with Katie Carpenter, she arranged our stay in Charelston SC while attending a debutante ball, it was a blast. She suggested I sign up and try it out myself, a few years later and here I am ready to go.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Clear Costa Rican starlit night skies are pretty amazing when you're on the beach away from all artificial light pollution. I've driven from VA to CA three times and CA to VA once, those were all fun. Sleeping with my head on my backpack in Monaco before the Grand Prix is a funny memory now along with hang gliding in Switzerland a few days later...all my stories are much better when I can spin them in person (especially my Amsterdam experience).
