About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finishing my Master Thesis
Getting used to life in Japan and improving my Japanese

ABOUT ME

From November 2011 until September 2012 I travelled Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Chile and Brazil and it where some of the most memorable 10 months of my life! At that time I travelled using couchsurfing a lot and only met awesome hosts.
The last years I have been busy studying a Bachelor and Master degree in "Forestry and Resource Management".

PHILOSOPHY

The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new lands but seeing with new eyes.
Marcel Proust

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I had the most amazing experiences and met only nice and interesting people while surfing.
So far I hosted only CS-friends that visited me and it was great!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It is awesome how people allow you - without knowing you before - to become a part of their life!
I always have been lucky and have only met great people.

Interests

I like beeing outdoors, including hiking, biking and cross-country-skiing. I also love reading novels and all kinds of dancing (especially salsa, ballroom and Bavarian folk dancing). I like listening to music and I play violin, viola and recently started with Taiko (Japanese drums).
Of course I love good food and I live vegan since 2008.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books I read while travelling:
Haruki Murakami: Kafka on the Shore; Dance,Dance,Dance;
The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle; Norwegian Wood; 1Q84
Junichiro Tanizaki: The Makioka sisters
Jorge Amado: O Sumiço da Santa
and lots of other books I just found in the hostels

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was tramping for 3 days in New Zealand with my fiancee in Abel Tasman National Park, we camped next to this postcard beach at the Anchorage . The native forest and the songs of the birds were so beautiful and at night we manged to find this small hidden glowworm-cave. This days felt like a long dream.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to practice my language skills. I am currently studying Japanese, but Portuguese and French need lots of improvement as well.
I can help with German in return ;)

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you have some time to spend time together I am happy to cook something vegan (and if wished German), have good talks and share travelling stories. I also don't mind to give a helping hand with house chores.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Brazil, Chile, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Thailand, Turkey

Countries I’ve Lived In
