ABOUT ME

I grew up on a farm and attend a medium sized college. I am in my final semester of undergraduate study. I intend to apply to medical school in the following year and in the meantime hope to travel throughout the Midwest or possibly to the Caribbean. I studied abroad as a sophomore in Scotland and backpacked throughout Western Europe. I love meeting new people and hearing their stories. In the past, I have spent hours talking to complete strangers and enjoyed every last minute!

PHILOSOPHY

Life is an adventure. You get what you take from it and you should take it all. Time is real and you shouldn't let a second slip. Never pass up the opportunity to try something new or to immerse yourself in another culture.

I never pass on an opportunity to do something new! I love to help people and give back to the community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Within the past year I have been blessed with an abundance of opportunities to travel and meet new people. One year ago, I had never heard of couchsurfing.com nor did I have an account. I was looking into traveling while on spring break, as I was studying in Scotland at the time. After creating an account, I did a little searching and contacted a few people in areas that I thought I would like to visit.

Within no time at all, responses started pouring in. Prior to my trip I had 3 separate people offer their couch to me as well as offer to show me around. Malaga was my first destination and my host was kind enough to contact a friend in Rome and arrange for host while I stayed in Rome.

Upon arriving in Rome, I found that my host had to other couch surfers traveling from Costa Rica. My time spent with the host and his surfers was amazing.

Through couch surfing, I have become confident in myself and those that I have come in contact with have changed me in undescribable ways.

I have been to half of the U.S. states and studied abroad. I have also spent two weeks in Costa Rica and Nicaragua distributing medical supplies to under served communities.
