About Me

CURRENT TRIP

Going to be in Tulum 3/25-3/27 and then in Cancun just for the night of 3/27.

ABOUT ME

I'm pretty easy going and I view myself as a sort of mix between spontaneous and realistic; I love to do things on the fly, but also know a little responsibility and planning is needed at times. I really enjoy getting to know people and their experiences, so couchsurfing has been great because I get a glimpse into other worlds and understandings. I love learning and trying new things, either by traveling, reading, taking a class, or watching movies. I'm pretty creative and like dabbling in all sorts of mediums--paints, graphite, graphic design, multi-media, wood, flowers, ink, etc. Nature is really important to me and my happy place is hiking in the mountains, looking at some wild animals, and getting my hands dirty. The dream would be to have a remote job and travel all around the country or world—hopefully someday I’ll figure out a way to make it happen. I’m a free spirit, am pretty willing to go anywhere and try anything, and I love seeing where life takes me!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I traveled over Christmas in 2012 in Europe and couchsurfed in Italy, I have couchsurfed in Australia, and on a trip to the UK/Ireland. Once I’m more settled, I would love to begin hosting!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had only positive couchsurfing experiences. Everyone has been so hospitable and friendly!

Music, Movies, and Books

I take all suggestions to all categories:
Movies: Moulin Rouge!, Dirty Dancing, Call Me by Your Name, Back to the Future, The Princess Bride, and pretty much all Disney
Music: Adam Melchor, Elio, Death Cab for Cutie, CHVRCHES, Alvvays, Alabama Shakes, The Head and the Heart, The Lumineers, Haim, Third Eye Blind, Taylor Swift, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Steve Miller Band, John Mellencamp, The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac
Books: The Woman in White, Shadow of the Wind, Harry Potter, The Great Gatsby, The Catcher in the Rye, Trainspotting, Atonement, Aurora Leigh, and anything by James Thurber cracks me up

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled all over Australia by myself when I lived over there as an au pair. I would take weekend trips all up and down the coast, getting to know new people and see their worlds for a bit (couchsurfing was pretty clutch!). The Great Barrier Reef was especially amazing—I took an overnight trip on a sailboat, snorkeled, and a little scuba. I’m still friends with some of the people I met in Australia and keep in touch with them, so it was a super cool and meaningful experience altogether. Also, backpacking in the Northern Cascades in Washington with my friends was absolutely incredible—we slept on a glacier, saw a wild goat and its baby, and hiked through wild flowers that made it all look like the Sound of Music.

Teach, Learn, Share

I’ve traveled around a decent amount, so I can share about those adventures. I also would love to introduce anyone to rock climbing or yoga, or anything artsy. I like cooking for people and really giving people a fully hospitable experience. I can definitely show you around the city or give some good suggestions for food or things to do. I’m a big reader as well, so maybe I can get you interested in Victorian literature....

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm generally pretty helpful, so if you need a hand with anything, don't hesitate to ask! I’m kind of handy too, so if there is something like that you need, I can try it out. I'm a good listener, like a new adventure, learning about people, and am pretty chill and don't care where I sleep, so I can provide a non-stressful couchsurfing experience.
