ABOUT ME
Starting in September I will be studying for my masters in Dual Language Elementary Education at Bank Street College in Manhattan. I'm really excited to start the new program and to get to know a new city!
I love learning whether that is through travel or reading or just wandering around the neighborhood. I have a streak of idealism, and like to believe I can make the world a slightly better place. I can be a little shy, but I love getting to know new people.

Music, Movies, and Books
Authors: David Sedaris, Jonathan Safran Foer, Michael Pollan, Roberto Bolaño, and Walt Whitman (hence the profile name). I also love a good dictionary.
Music: Jolie Holland, Sufjan Stevens, Mumford and Sons, just about anything live.
Movies: Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios, My Own Private Idaho, everything by Wes Anderson, Away We Go
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a pretty good English teacher, and I love learning languages so we could make it an exchange.
I also think I'm a decent cook, especially vegetarian stuff, and the best way to learn that is cooking together. Another thing I love to do.
