About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To write as much as I laugh each day

ABOUT ME

I just moved to the San Fernando Valley from Colorado, where I grew up. Why? You might ask like many have so far. I have two answers. The easiest answer is why not? I'm 27, single, childless. Seemed like a perfect time to move away from my family and lifelong friends! The other answer is that my dream is to screenwrite. So here I am. I might be a cliche but I love it.

PHILOSOPHY

Faith is knowing that one of two things will always happen: you will find something solid on which to stand, or you will be taught to fly.

Everything is always okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end--Tolstoy

Fear no mistakes, for there are none--Miles Davis

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been inactive for a couple years as I haven't had a couch available and was busy with school and couldn't justify spending one more second than necessary on my computer because I was basically using most seconds of my day on the computer. But I'm back and am excited to get back into Surfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed in Madrid, Munich, Frankfurt, Dublin, Edinburgh and London when I traveled Europe on my own and had so much fun meeting new people every where and really getting to know the cities better.

I hosted a couple times with my friend Marianne in Beauvais, France and it was a lot of fun. I hope to do more in future travelings for sure.

Interests

Writing, reading, writing, movies, yoga, being outside, writing, hiking, eating a lot, health food, relaxing, tea, dessert, experiencing life and new things, meditating, sleeping, chatting, wine, my dog Oliver and so much more!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I don't like the question of favorite music because I love music but I do like being asked what I'm listening to right now: Pretty Lights, Of Monsters and Men, Regina Spektor, Florence and the Machine, Radiohead, Emancipator, Joni Mitchell, Delilah, Filastine, Beats Antique, Tune-Yards, Telepopmusik, Gramatik, The Decembrists. Whoa that list got long fast. I just love music.

Listing my favorite books is impossible and ever-expanding so I will list some of my all time favorites: One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest, East of Eden, Harry Potter (it counts as one:)), Bossypants, books on healthy eating, In Cold Blood, anything by Roald Dahl and lately I've been reading screenplays.

And I love all kinds of movies and have an affinity for zombie movies (28 Days Later, anyone?)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There's just not much like being in Telluride for the annual bluegrass fest in June. It'll change your life.

Teach, Learn, Share

Someday I hope to teach people about writing but for now I feel so unprepared to teach anyone about anything but I LOVE to learn. People have said I have a lot to teach so some areas I might be able to help you with are: writing, raising a very weird dog, yoga, healthy eating and laughing.

Teach me anything.

Especially if you rock climb, surf, write screenplays or can cook vegan meals, I would love to spend some time learning from you!
